Vogt WeatherWatcher uses Remind as its text messaging platform to forward information to the community. This service is completely free and allows content to be delivered directly to your phone. Below are the different text messaging feeds Vogt WeatherWatcher has to offer.

Monroe County Weather and School Prediction Alerts

To sign up, text @vwwmonroe to the phone number 81010

This feed sends school predictions and severe weather alerts as necessary. Prediction-related texts are delivered as soon as predictions are published to social media. Severe weather texts are issued when a potentially life-threatening weather event (during anytime of the year) is imminent.

Premium Updates

To sign up, text @vwwpremium to the phone number 81010

This feed sends general notifications whenever updated data results in a major change to school closing predictions within the coverage area. These messages will be sent on an as-needed basis, but no more than once a day. A link to the Premium site, which will allow Premium members to view details, will be provided in the messages.

 

Opting-Out

If you do not wish to receive text messages anymore, below are the instructions via Remind’s website on how to be removed from the messaging list(s).

Leave all Remind classes via text:
Text STOPALL to the Remind short code 81010 (US-only)

Leave one Remind class via text:
Reply “@leave @code” to 81010. If, for example, the code for the class you no longer want to be in is “vwwmonroe,” text: @leave @vwwmonroe
