Vogt WeatherWatcher is a weather service serving those in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Using social media and its website as its outreach, the service creates public school closing predictions for school districts in Monroe County. The predictions offer a “heads-up” on how local districts could react to a weather event as early as three days in advance. This gives the community the opportunity to plan their schedule ahead of time, reducing the risk for last-minute changes or complications.
The service was started as a passion in 2013 by Benjamin Vogt, an East Stroudsburg High School South graduate. Since then, the organization has expanded to become a recognized name in the Poconos. By gathering all available data (including weather model data, current observations, and multiple forecasts), accurate predictions can be developed with a hyper-local focus. The service is constantly finding innovative ways to improve its prediction reliability.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at any time. I greatly appreciate your support for the organization and I look forward to serving you.
