FINAL Prediction for Friday, January 12, 2024

Happy Friday Eve, or Thursday everyone! As we inch towards the weekend, we have another storm system approaching and the FINAL Prediction for Friday has been published.

The forecast has remained steady from yesterday: 1 to 2 inches of rainfall is expected from late Friday night into Saturday. For the higher elevations, precipitation may start out as snow initially due to below freezing temperatures, but it will convert to rain within a few hours. As a result, no more than an inch of snowfall is anticipated. Winds are also expected to increase, but not until after 9 PM.

While this system has similarities to this week’s past storm, the timing of it is several hours later. Therefore, cancellation of after school activities becomes the only possible reaction, in my opinion. However, these reactions would be limited to the upper elevations due to their initial exposure to below freezing temperatures. For all other locations, I see a regular day as the most likely outcome.

As always, keep an eye out for alerts tomorrow, do not drive through flooded roadways, and be safe. Have a great evening everyone and thank you for the support!
