Second Prediction for Tuesday, November 21, 2023

Good evening everyone! I hope your week is off to a good start. Below is the Second Prediction for Tuesday, November 21, 2023.

So far the forecast has been relatively steady since the First Prediction was issued yesterday. Model guidance has trended a degree or two warmer, which may not seem like much but it can make a difference when temperatures are expected to be around freezing. I am still expecting snow and mixed precipitation to start around 4 PM and switch over to rain by 9 PM. I also think the lower elevated areas (below 1,000 feet) will be above freezing and will not experience snow accumulations. However, areas above 1,000 feet, notably around Mt. Pocono, could receive up to one inch of snowfall as temperatures will be at or below freezing for a short window of time. Below is the National Weather Service forecast illustrating this point.

After posting the First Prediction yesterday, I was notified some districts have Parent-Teacher Conference Tuesday and Wednesday, so some schools (and I am assuming activities as well) will not be in session. For these cases, I would treat the odds for No Activities to be the odds for No Parent Teacher Conferences. Considering the temperature forecast has increased slightly, I am increasing the Regular Day odds. However, I still think an isolated cancelation of activities or two is possible for elevated school districts. I plan on issuing the Final Prediction tomorrow morning. Thanks everyone for the support – is is appreciated – and have a great rest of your evening!
