First Prediction for Friday, March 10, 2023

Good evening everyone and Happy Thursday! Attached is the First Prediction for Friday, March 10, 2023.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 1 PM tomorrow until 10 AM Saturday. 3 to 5 inches of snow is expected, with locally higher amounts possible. On the surface, the timing of this is ideal for early dismissals, which is why I do favor this outcome. However, temperatures will be above freezing initially, which weakens the argument for early dismissals. Also, I have noticed this winter school districts have been reacting in independent ways compared to prior winters (not a criticism), making it harder to predict in these borderline situations. It also doesn’t help we have had (too) many borderline winter events this year.

I plan on issuing the Final Prediction tomorrow. Have a great evening everyone and thank you for the support!
