Good evening everyone! I hope your week is going strong. Attached is the FINAL Prediction for December 15 and the Second Prediction for December 16, 2022.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 10 AM Thursday until 7 AM Friday; the National Weather Service is expecting 3 to 6 inches of snowfall and 0.10 inches of ice (this is down slightly from yesterday’s Winter Storm Watch). For Thursday, a 10 AM start time is on the fence when it comes to the closing versus early dismissal argument. However, there was a similar event back on February 20, 2021 where Monroe County schools went virtual or closed. Using that event as an analog or proxy to tomorrow’s event, I am leaning towards the closing scenario. Switching gears to Friday, model guidance is starting to come in a little colder, meaning temperatures are expected to stay below freezing for longer. If these trends hold, the closing odds may take the lead, but for now it is also a borderline situation.
I plan on issuing the Final Prediction for Friday tomorrow evening. Have a great day everyone and thank you for the support!
