Good evening everyone! I hope the new year has been off to a great start for you. Attached is the First Prediction for Tuesday, January 26, 2021.

1 to 3 inches of snowfall is anticipated from Tuesday morning until just after midnight Wednesday morning. Temperatures in the lower 20s will allow for road accumulations at all elevations. This event will likely feature light snowfall rates but will be long in duration. The timing of the snow is not favorable for the afternoon bus runs and it also throws doubt into the morning runs too. All it takes is for a few inches of snow timed just right to cause school closings. Considering the hybrid environment, my gut is telling me that schools may take the “easy” route of going virtual to keep the school day and eliminate the worry of coordinating busses.

I plan on issuing the Second Prediction tomorrow early afternoon. I also suspect this snow will create lingering impacts into Wednesday and consequently I will be issuing predictions beginning tomorrow afternoon.
