Second Prediction for December 11, 2019

Hello everyone! Attached is Second Prediction for Wednesday, December 11, 2019.

Model guidance and forecasts are gradually coming into consensus for around 2 inches of snowfall late tonight into tomorrow morning. 2 inches of snow is the perfect amount to cause school delays, especially if it is timed just before the morning bus runs. However, there is a boom and bust potential with this event, which is why the percentages remain unchanged compared to the First Prediction. I am hoping to indicated more confidence towards a particular scenario and/or eliminate an unlikely reaction for tonight’s Final Prediction.

There was a good question asked last night if road conditions will ice up due to wet roads and falling temperatures. There is going to be a window between today’s rainfall and the snow late tonight that will allow some time for roads to dry. Usually, flash freeze conditions are created when there is already slush on the roadways, not just wet conditions. This is part of the reason why the Closing scenario is not off the table, for now.

The Final Prediction will be issued this evening between 6 and 8 PM. Have a great day everyone and thank you for the support!
