Winter Storm Warnings Issued for NEPA

Good evening everyone. I hope your Thanksgiving holiday went well as we enter the weekend.

If you have travel plans for Sunday, they are likely going to get disrupted as a significant winter storm is expected to impact the area from late Sunday morning until Monday evening. Winter Storm Watches have been issued for Northeastern PA. Monroe County is expected to receive 4 to 8 inches of snowfall and a tenth of an inch of ice, while places further north will receive 8 to 14 inches. I am concern prolonged icing on Sunday is going to cause significant travel issues. I recommend getting to your destination by noon before road conditions become too difficult to travel.

Because most schools are off Monday due to hunting season, a prediction will not be issued. However, because this event will be prolonged, we may be looking at delays on Tuesday; a First Prediction will be issued tomorrow.

I will be posting updates tomorrow afternoon, but I like the National Weather Service’s forecast for this event. Please plan accordingly – time to bring out those snow shovels!

By the way, if you are looking for unique Christmas gifts, check out the check out the site’s merchandise and Premium site; this helps keep the service running. The Premium site is at a 20% discount from now until Tuesday 12/3 ($22.99 for the season). Your support is appreciated. 🙂

Thanks everyone and have a great rest of your evening!
