Good evening everyone. Attached is the FINAL Prediction for Friday, February 1, 2019.
With the extreme weather over the last few days and with temperatures expected to go below 0 in some locations by tomorrow morning, I have a feeling districts may delay to account for these conditions and to allow time to prepare schools and buses. As I speak, a few districts (including Delaware Valley) have already announced delays for tomorrow morning. However, this is not a straight forward call because Monroe County is not under a Wind Chill Advisory.
Overall though, I think schools will err on the side of caution with a delayed opening. It is possible for some elevated/isolated districts to close if lingering impacts remain strong enough into tomorrow morning, but this is doubtful (20% chance).
I will be monitoring for school announcements tonight. Have a great evening everyone and thank you for the support!
