FINAL Prediction for January 25, 2019

Good evening everyone. Attached is the FINAL Prediction for Friday, January 25, 2019.

Due to frozen ground and snow cover, drainage areas are less effective than usual, which has caused significant ponding and flooding throughout the region. Temperatures are beginning to drop below freezing and will continue to do so throughout the night. To me, there is a good possibility for black ice tomorrow morning, which gives the delay scenario a realistic reaction.

Given how some elevated areas are still experiencing impacts from earlier this week, I have a feeling school districts may delay out of precaution. Regular Days are still on the table if winds can dry out the roads in time before icing occurs. Conversely, if the black ice is widespread and severe enough, it can pose a closing risk, especially for the elevated districts. Ultimately, we will not know how the icing turns out until tomorrow morning; regardless, please travel with caution in the morning hours.

I will be on the lookout for any school announcements tonight. Have a great evening and thank you for the support!
