Second Prediction for Friday, January 18, 2019

Good afternoon everyone. Attached is the Second Prediction for Friday, January 18, 2019.

For those desiring a snow day, the odds have not shifted in your favor. Forecasts and model guidance are trending drier, now calling for 1 to 3 inches of snow. In addition, the end time has shifted to earlier to before 6 AM Friday. While 2 inches of snow can cause closings, it needs to be timed perfectly; in this case, a delay should provide enough time for roads to improve and for buses to be ready, hence the favoritism towards the delay scenario. I would not be surprised, however, if isolated, higher-elevated schools receive 2 to 3 inches of snow and possibly close.

I plan on issuing the Final Prediction tomorrow evening. Thank you for the support and have a great rest of your day!
