First Prediction for Friday, January 18, 2019

Good evening everyone! Attached is the First Prediction for Friday, January 18, 2019.

2 to 4 inches of snow is expected from late-Thursday night until Friday morning. The timing would cause disruptions to the morning commute and consequently the morning bus runs. Historically, 2 inches of snow timed just right is enough to cause closings; based on current forecasts, I suspect closings are more likely than delays.

If you want to see county-by-county impacts for Friday’s event, I highly recommend checking out the Premium site! It provides school predictions for 12 counties across Northeastern PA, including the Lehigh Valley and Scranton areas. Take a look!

As for Sunday’s event, guidance has trended towards a warmer, less-snowier solution. There is still time for this to change and we should get a better idea later this week. The Second Prediction for Friday will be issued tomorrow afternoon or evening. Have a great rest of your day and thank you for the support!
