Good evening everyone. I hope your work week is off to a good start. I have multiple updates this evening, but one is very important that I need your attention for.
I use Remind as the platform for the text messaging service. I received an email this morning stating, in short, a misunderstanding between Remind and Verizon is forcing Remind to stop sending text messages to Verizon customers beginning January 28, 2019. In other words, if you are signed up for the text alerts and are a Verizon customer, you will stop receiving them.
There are two ways to work around this — both are free. The first is to download the Remind app and turn on mobile notifications; the alternative is to sign up for email alerts. Please see the link below for further details.

I do not plan on changing providers because Remind is a free and easy-to-use platform. I imagine Remind is working hard to resolve the situation. I will provide updates as they become available; thank you for understanding.
In regards to winter weather, we have two threats to monitor. The first being Friday morning, where 1 to 4 inches of snow may cause widespread delays and perhaps a few closings. The second is this weekend, of which multiple outlets and model guidance are suggesting an increased risk for significant snow and ice. Any impacts would occur on Sunday and Monday — both of which are not school days due to MLK Jr. Day. A First Prediction for Friday may be issued as soon as tomorrow night.
Thank you everyone for the support. Have a great rest of your evening.
