FINAL Prediction for January 8, 2018

Good morning everyone. Attached is the FINAL Prediction for today’s light snow event.

Overall, the favoritism for the early dismissal odds remains the same. However, there are a few observations I have noted. First, the radar appears to be slightly more robust than what short term guidance had originally projected (but an inch of snow is still expected). Guidance also has the snow coming in roughly 30 to 60 minutes earlier, which would push the odds more towards the early dismissal scenario.

I did receive some commentary yesterday regarding Keystone testing and its impact on decision making. From what I recall, testing has little to no bearing on the decision. However, I noticed this morning Pleasant Valley High School sent out a tweet yesterday (around noon) stating it would be postponing Keystone testing for the *possibility* of an early dismissal. I am not sure if the other school districts have done the same.

On a side note, I have added a Frequently Asked Questions page on my website. I am looking for feedback on which common questions you would like to be answered. If you have a general question you would like to have answered, please email me your questions (it is appreciated).

Make sure you tune into your local sources for any official school announcements. Have a good Monday and be cautious if traveling today. Thanks again for everything.
