Updated Predictions for January 4 and 5, 2018

Good evening everyone! I hope your Wednesday was good so far.

Attached is the FINAL Prediction for Thursday and the Second Prediction for Friday. Winter Weather Advisories have been issued for our area. The National Weather Service anticipates 2 to 4 inches of snowfall from 9 PM tonight until 7 PM tomorrow. Most of this snowfall is expected to occur before, during, and just after the morning bus runs. Given this scenario, I have a strong suspicion schools may close on Thursday.

After this snow event, temperatures are expected to plummet overnight, resulting in bitterly cold wind chill values — some locations may get into the -20s for wind chills. The area is also under a Wind Chill Watch for this period. While I favor the odds of delays occurring, isolated closings cannot be ruled out since wind chill values are only going to warm slightly throughout the day on Friday.

The Final Prediction for Friday will be issued tomorrow night. Have a safe evening and I will provide updates as necessary. Make sure to monitor your local sources for school announcements.
