First Prediction for November 21, 2016

Good evening everyone, I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

A lake-effect snow event is anticipated over the next 24 hours. Valley locations are expected to receive a coating to an inch and accumulations will be limited to non-paved surfaces. However, the mountain locations might accumulate 3 or 4 inches of snow. All snow stop should stop by sunset.

In terms of school impacts for Monday, I am expecting roads to be relatively okay given ground temperatures are still above freezing (not by much though) and plows should keep the roads clear of drifting snow. I feel very confident about this for the valley districts, but not so much for the mountain areas. If any snow bands remain over an area for an prolonged period of time, excess snow totals could trigger delays. I would expect any delay decision to occur Monday morning.

The Final Prediction will be released tomorrow afternoon; have a good weekend!
