Good evening everyone and Happy Thursday! Attached is the FINAL Prediction for Friday, February 2026.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 7 PM tonight until 12 PM tomorrow. They are anticipating up to an inch of snow and around 0.20 inches of ice. Looking at their forecast maps, it will be heavily elevation-dependent: Pocono Mountain, as usual, will likely get the most snow and ice. That said, the valley areas (Stroudsburg and Pleasant Valley areas) may receive very little icing and snow. East Stroudsburg is a bit of a tossup: in recent history, they have tended to follow Pocono Mountain’s actions more than that of Stroudsburg’s and Pleasant Valley, but they will not receive as much icing as Pocono Mountain.
Considering all of this, I am still favoring the closing scenario overall for the county, but I would anticipate district-by-district decisions. It is possible they could make a decision tonight or evaluate in the morning, so keep an eye out for alerts. Be safe everyone and feel free to comment any school alerts or weather observations!
