Winter Storm Inches Closer: Watches Issued

Good evening everyone! Happy Thursday and I hope you are doing well this evening. I have a few brief updates to go over; let’s dive in.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch in effect from 1 AM Sunday until 1 PM Monday. They are currently anticipating 12 to 16 inches of snowfall and a tenth of an inch of ice. Based on the latest model guidance and forecasts, I still like the 12 to 18 inch idea, but I may have to adjust this upwards tomorrow if confidence increases on the jackpot zone being closer to the Poconos. There is still uncertainty as to where exactly the jackpot will land, but the latest data indicates it could be near the Poconos.

Separately, there is a Cold Weather Advisory in effect for Friday evening until Saturday morning – this should not impact schools on Friday, since the coldest wind chills will occur Saturday morning.
