Updated Predictions for December 2 and 3, 2025

Good evening everyone! Confidence continues to rise for a moderate snow event for the area on Tuesday; we have updated predictions for Tuesday and Wednesday… let’s dive into it!

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch in effect from 1 AM Tuesday until 10 PM Tuesday. They are expecting 4 to 8 inches of snowfall, which is in line with previous expectations. This would also imply the Southern Poconos will get into the jackpot zone: the area to recieve the most snowfall in the Eastern PA region.

School districts are having various back-to-school schedules for this week, so we will break this down day-by-day. For tomorrow, Monday, no snowfall is anticipated and for those who have school scheduled are very likely to have a normal day. For Tuesday, the odds are becoming very likely for closings to occur given the timing and amount of snowfall expected. The question then shifts to Wednesday, where I do anticipate lingering impacts as school districts recover. Historically in these situations, delays are a common occurance, which is what I am currently favoring. That said, temperatures are expected to drop strongly below freezing overnight (a strong flash freeze), so I think there is a non-zero chance of closings/virtual days if roads do not materially improve overnight. Wednesday’s prediction could fluctauate as observations come in.
