First Prediction for December 2, 2025

Good evening everyone! Trends continue to point to a snowfall event on Tuesday; therefore, the First Prediction has been issued.

While model guidance is disagreeing on the exact timing and amount, there is a general idea of a snowall in the range of 3 to 6 inches, with locally higher amounts in the jackpot zone. The Poconos are likely to be in this 3 to 6 inch range, and I do think there is a reasonable chance for the area to get into the jackpot. The current best estimate for timing would be a start time in the morning hours on Tuesday, concluding Tuesday evening. Temperatures during the event will be at or just below freezing; I do think road accumulations will occur due to cold air on Monday.

As a result, I do think closings are the most likely option for the area on Tuesday. If the storm timing gets delayed, that would favor the early dismissal option more, but we will see how the National Weather Service evolves as we get closer. I will issue a First Prediction for Wednesday when I issue the Second Prediction for Tuesday tomorrow evening.
