Good evening everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving as we enter into the holiday season.
There has been chatter and increasing confidence that moderate snowfall is likely for the region on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. The timing would be starting Tuesday afternoon and concluding during the overnight hours of Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Initial snowfall estimates are likely around 3 to 6 inches for the area, but the “jackpot” zone could receive snowfall in excess of 6 inches.
Coincidentally, this lines up when schools start returning to class after the Thanksgiving break. I do think school impacts will be on the table – the question becomes the exact start and end time of the snowfall, which will influence the type of reaction on both of these days. Temperatures are going to be a significant factor: any shift west in the current forecast track would mean warmer temperatures (possibly above freezing) and would reduce snow totals. The First Prediction for Tuesday will be issued tomorrow evening as confidence gradually on storm evolution.
