Good afternoon/evening everyone and Happy Tuesday! The FINAL Prediction is out for Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

An Extreme Cold Warning remains in effect until 12 PM on Wednesday. Temepratures are expected to be the same or 1 to 2 degrees colder than what we observed this morning; however, winds will be calmer tonight. The net effect is we will probably see the same wind chill factor this morning as we did yesterday, maybe slightly warmer by a degree or two.

Last night, Pocono Mountain enacted a virtual day for today, while the other districts planned for 2 hour delays. However, Pleasant Valley ended up changing to a virtual day this morning because buses were having a difficult time starting. Considering the slight differences in temperature and wind chill expectations for tonight versus what we observed this morning, I think the probabilities of delays and closings net out to be the same as yesterday: 65% Delay, 35% Closing. To me, the theme would be delays for most (East Stroudsburg, Stroudsburg, and probably Pleasant Valley) with some closings/virtual days for districts that experience the brunt of the cold air and wind chills (Pocono Mountain, possibly Pleasant Valley if they have bus starting issues again).
