Good evening everyone! I hope the Thanksgiving holiday went well for you and your families. Attached is the FINAL Prediction for Thursday, December 5, 2025.
An area of low pressure is passing by the region, generating some snow showers. The National Weather Service is anticipating 1 to 2 inches of accumulations. Based on model guidance and forecast, it appears the most likely time for the accumulating snow to occur will be between 3 AM and 6 AM tomorrow morning, which is right in the middle of when school districts make decisions on school delays and closures. Temperatures will be at or below freezing throughout the county, so I am anticipating accumluations on roadways.
Considering even one inch of snowfall timed just right can cause school delays, I do think it is likely for school delays to occur, which is why it is favored in the prediction. Closures are a possibility for areas that receive the higher-end of snowfall accumulations (2″+), if snow squalls occur during the re-evaluation period (6 AM to 8 AM if delayed), and road conditions do not materially improve during the delay. There is still a possibility for Regular Days if snowfall accumulations pan out lower than expected, but I do not think this is likely at this time.
I do not anticipate school decisions to be made tonight, although keep one eye open just in case. We will see how everything pans out the morning. Thanks everyone for the support and have a great rest of your evening!
