Good evening everyone and Happy Superbowl Sunday! Attached are the Second Predictions for Tuesday, February 13 and Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 6 PM Monday until 6 PM Tuesday. The National Weather Service is anticipating 6 to 10 inches of snowfall to occur. Over the last 24 hours, model guidance was shifting north with the heaviest axis of snow, up to the PA/NY border; but in the most recent data, there appears to be a last-minute trend back south. Therefore, I still think 6 to 12 inches of snowfall is still a reasonable expectation, with a solid chance of the actual snowfall ending up on the higher-end of the forecast.
Considering the latest data and trends, the odds for no school on Tuesday continue to increase. Additionally, with temperatures expected to fall well below freezing Tuesday night, black ice is a valid concern. Therefore, the odds for delays on Wednesday have increased; there is even a possibility of closings and virtual days if severe black ice develops, but I am giving this a low probability for now.
Enjoy your evening everyone, thank you for the support, and have a great day!
