Second Prediction for Monday, January 8, 2024

Happy Saturday everyone! Attached is the Second Prediction for Monday, January 8, 2024.

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 PM Sunday evening. The National Weather Service increased their snowfall forecast from 6 – 10 to 8 – 12 inches of snowfall (image below). Snow is beginning to enter the region and will become more steady as the day progresses. Snowfall rates over 1 inch per hour are possible.

As a result of the higher snowfall forecast, the delay odds for Monday have increased slightly. I am still keeping a close eye on the temperature and wind forecast as this will ultimately decide if the flash freeze Sunday night will pan out – so far everything remains on track.

If you are interested in getting hourly predictions for your local county, I highly recommend checking out the Premium Site! It provides hourly school predictions and weather forecasts out to four days in advance. It is also a great way to support the service. Check it out!

I plan on issuing the Final Prediction for Monday tomorrow, likely in the afternoon hours. I have a suspicion schools may announce delays tomorrow night. As for Tuesday’s flooding potential, I will likely start issuing predictions tomorrow assuming the current forecast pans out. Have a great rest of your day and thank you for the support!
