First Predictions for February 27 and 28, 2023

Good afternoon everyone! I hope your weekend has been going well. Attached are the First Predictions for Monday February 27 and Tuesday February 28, 2023.

Snow is expected to enter the region around 4/5 PM tomorrow and continue until around or just after dawn tomorrow (7 AM). 4 to 6 inches is currently expected from the National Weather Service. I suspect they will issue advisories in the coming hours, which should also help in confirming the start time. Focusing on Monday first, the start time of the snow is not favorable for the activity bus runs: a start time ranging from 4 to 6 PM is usually enough to cancel activities. If the start time starts pushing to earlier to 3 PM, then early dismissal odds start picking up. For now, I favor no after school activities only.

As for Tuesday, with snow continuing until the morning hours, I am finding it difficult for the morning bus runs to run without issue. Even with a two hour delay, temperatures are still going to be around or just below freezing and the snow will just be concluding. I do not believe there will be enough time for schools to clean up nor for plow to effectively clear the majority of roads by then. Given this, I am favoring closings for Tuesday.

My plan is to issue the Final Prediction for Monday and the Second Prediction for Tuesday early tomorrow morning. Have a great rest of your evening everyone and thank you for the support!
