Good evening everyone and Happy Monday! Attached is the Final Prediction for Tuesday, January 11, 2022.
The coldest air of the season is encroaching on the area. Temperatures will drop down into the single digits tonight and will rise to only the teens tomorrow. Wind chill values – the ultimate decider for cold-weather-related reactions – will be around -10*F for most locations. Historically, schools conduct delays when an Wind Chill Advisory is issued, and vice-versa. For this situation, advisories have not been issued for Monroe County nor its neighboring counties (except northern parts of Wayne County). Given this, I do favor a Regular Day tomorrow. However, some districts in Luzerne County (located to the west of us) have delayed for tomorrow, despite no advisory.
Keep on the lookout for any announcements just in case; regardless, please dress in preparation for the cold conditions tomorrow morning. Be safe, have a great evening, and thank you for the support!
