Good evening everyone and Happy Wednesday! Attached is the Second Prediction for January 7, 2022.
Confidence continues to increase that we will be receiving snow on Friday – enough for me to say Regular Day odds are very improbable. Forecasts and model guidance vary from 1 – 3 to 2 – 4 inches of snowfall, so I am going with 2 – 3 inches as of now. It is interesting to note the National Weather Service did not issue a Winter Weather Advisory for Monroe County, which means they are expecting under 3 inches pf snowfall for the county. So we will see how things continue to progress.
I still favor the Closing/Virtual Day scenario because the timing would still impact the morning bus runs even if they are delayed. Just like real estate’s slogan is “location, location, location” (which is also true for the weather), for school reactions it is “timing, timing, timing.” Historically, two inches of snowfall has been enough to cause closings/virtual days if it is timed to impact both regular morning and delayed morning bus runs, which I think will be the case for Friday.
The Final Prediction will be issued tomorrow evening. Have a great day everyone and thank you for the support!
