FINAL Predictions for December 16 and 17, 2020

Good evening everyone! Attached are the FINAL Predictions for Wednesday and Thursday.

The National Weather Service has a Winter Storm Warning in effect from 12 PM Wednesday until 10 AM Thursday, with 12 to 20 inches of snowfall expected. Model guidance has trended northwest with the heaviest axis of snow, which introduces us to sleet cutting into snow accumulations, but we have to watch for any trend back towards us. I am still holding firm with a forecast of 15 to 21 inches. School districts are beginning to announce early dismissals for tomorrow and some districts in neighboring counties have announced plans to either close or go fully virtual for Thursday – this is unprecedented… I do not recall a time where a school district announced a closing two days in advance of a snow storm. Given these observations and the high confidence behind a region-wide impactful snowstorm, I have gone all in for closings and virtual days for Thursday.

I will issuing the First Prediction for Friday tomorrow evening once we see observationally how the storm is unfolding. Thank you everyone for the support over the last few days! If you want to help out, check out the Premium Site and Merchandise!
