First Prediction for December 11, 2019

Good evening everyone! Attached is the First Prediction for Wednesday, December 11, 2019.

Light to moderate snow is anticipated from late Tuesday night through Wednesday morning. The timing of snow is ideal for those hoping for school closings, as it will be occurring during the morning bus runs. The National Weather Service has 3 to 4 inches of snow in the forecast, which is enough to cause school closings. Those in the higher elevations have the best chance for snow accumulations.

With that said, I am not sold on the closing argument. Most model guidance has trended lower with snow totals, calling for 1 to 2 inches of snow. In addition, ground temperatures will be warmer thanks to this week’s warm temperatures and rain; I do question how much snow will actually accumulate on roadways. I do favor the delay scenario for now given these conditions; however, the prediction percentages may adjust significantly as data becomes more consistent.

The Second Prediction will be issued tomorrow morning. Thanks everyone for the support and have a great rest of your evening!
