FINAL Prediction for December 3, 2019

Good evening everyone. Attached is the FINAL Prediction for December 3, 2019.

There is a very large disparity in conditions throughout Monroe County. Those towards the southwest near Pleasant Valley have received very little snow, while those towards the northeast are still receiving snow and have poor roads. There are also numerous reports of no power and some customers are estimated to receive power tomorrow evening. While roads are generally in good shape, temperatures are expected to fall into the 20s and there have been many photos of tree branches down. To me, a middle of the road approach (a delay) makes the most scene; it a cautionary way of still conducting school. With that said, I do not think Closings – or even Full Days – are off the table given the wide range of conditions.

Some districts in the region (Forest City Regional) have delayed tomorrow, so it will be interesting to see how the rest of the region pans out. I suspect some districts will make a decision tonight, while others on the fence may wait until the morning. Regardless, have a safe evening, stay warm, and thank you for the support as always.
