First Predictions for February 20 and 21, 2019

Good evening everyone! Attached are the First Predictions for Wednesday, February 20, and Thursday, February 21, 2019.

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect from 10 AM Wednesday until 8 AM Thursday. 3 to 5 inches of snow and a tenth of an inch of ice is anticipated during this time period. Afternoon bus runs will likely be impacted on Wednesday, so I do anticipate a reaction of some type. While the start time is almost too early to squeeze in early dismissals, I think if there is going to be any adjustments it would be for a later start time, hence my favoritism toward the early dismissal scenario.

As for Thursday, freezing rain is expected until dawn. Temperatures will be gradually warming; all areas will be above freezing after 8 AM. The problem is I do not think roads will improve enough to accommodate delay bus runs, which is why I lean towards the closing scenario.
