Good afternoon everyone. Attached is the Second Prediction for Wednesday, January 23, 2019.
Over the last 12 hours, model guidance has trended towards a later start time for tomorrow’s precipitation; this has two impacts on the early dismissal odds. First, with a start time now expected after 3 PM, this drastically weakens the argument for early dismissals (compared to a 12/1 PM start). Second, a later start time allows temperatures to warm above freezing before the precipitation arrives, which consequently means less ice and snow accumulations. With these two factors combined, I think a Regular Day is now looking more likely.
My plan is to issue the Final Prediction either tonight or tomorrow morning, depending on personal confidence and forecast trends. Have a great rest of your day and thank you for the support!
