Good evening everyone. My apologies for my tardiness — I had family guests over that I had to attend to. Attached below is the FINAL Prediction for December 13, 2018.
Looking at National Weather Service data, private forecasts, and model guidance, the most likely outcome to me is a start time between 8 and 10 AM, lasting until dusk, with accumulations around 1 inch, maybe 2 in some areas. Historically, 1 inch of snow has been enough to cause school reactions — the million dollar question is what.
The timing is awkward because it is not expected to be snowing around 4/5 AM, which is typically when school districts make decisions about the morning bus runs. Because of this, I am going low on the delay and closing odds (10% each). Once the snow starts to accumulate (9/10 AM), I suspect school districts may early dismiss out of precaution (50%). If snow accumulations end up lighter than expected, a Regular Day is more likely (30%).
I will admit my confidence is low with this event, mainly because a difference of half an inch of snow could drastically change the reaction of a district. This, and considering variability of the start time, makes tomorrow a challenge to predict. Make sure to monitor your local sources for official announcements if they are issued. Have a good evening everyone and thank you for the support.
