Good evening everyone. Did you think winter was over? Mother Nature has other plans…

Attached is the First Prediction for Monday, April 2, 2018. 2 to 4 inches of snow is expected from after midnight Sunday night until 10 AM Monday morning. Since the snow will be occurring predominately at night and during the morning bus runs, climatology will have limited, if any, impacts to accumulations.

Historically, as little as 2 inches of snow can cause school closings, particularly if it occurs during the morning bus runs. Forecasts and model guidance appear to be trending toward this scenario; therefore, my current prediction does favor the closing option. I am aware East Stroudsburg and Stroudsburg due not have school due to the holiday; however, Pleasant Valley and Pocono Mountain are using Monday as a snow make-up day.

My plan is to publish the Second Prediction tomorrow morning, followed by the Final Prediction tomorrow evening. I would not be surprised if the National Weather Service issues an advisory at some point tomorrow. Have a good evening and thank you for the support.
