First Predictions for Monday, March 12, and Tuesday, March 13, 2018

Good evening everyone. I hope you had a great weekend. Attached are the First Predictions for Monday, March 12, and Tuesday, March 13, 2018.

3 to 4 inches of snowfall is expected from Monday night into Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service. The snow should start after school activities conclude on Monday; this, plus the fact temperatures will be above freezing during the day, is why I favor a Regular Day over No Activities. However, the risk for No Activities is not off the table since schools could cancel them out of precaution. The timing of any National Weather Service advisories would be an influence to this.

As for Tuesday, the impact to the morning bus runs is not ideal. The snow is expected to last into dawn, which, thanks to Daylight Savings Time, is now 7/8 AM. I am concerned delays may not be adequate to allow road conditions to improve for the morning buses. This is why I favor closings at this time; however, if forecasts trend drier, then the delay odds could increase.

I plan on issuing the Final Prediction for Monday and the Second Prediction for Tuesday tomorrow morning. Have a good evening everyone and thank you for the support.
