Good evening everyone. I hope your weekend has gone well and are looking forward to the start of the new week.

Attached is the First Prediction for January 16, 2018. Light snow, approximately 1 to 3 inches, is expected during the daylight hours on Tuesday. The snow will fall as light showers during the day.

Generally speaking, I don’t like light snow events that are spread out over long periods of time — to me, it introduces the possibility of a Regular Day and they are harder events to predict for. However, I think Tuesday’s snow event will be more of a Closing versus Early Dismissal question — do school districts have enough time to get students in and send them home before road conditions become too slippery? Personally, I say no, which is why I favor the Closing option at this time.
