December 14, 2017 Recap

Good evening everyone. I hope your Thursday is going well.

School districts located in Northeastern Pennsylvania ended up closing for the most part. The main reason for the closures was due to poor road conditions lingering after sunrise. Looking hindsight, I should have recognized a few factors that would have put my prediction in favor of a closing, such as the Winter Weather Advisories lasting until 10 AM. Weather has once again demonstrated it does take not much to impact the morning commute. Pocono Mountain now has two snow days under its belt while the other Monroe County districts have one.

I do not see any potential snow events on the immediate horizon. The next best opportunity for snow may not be until late next week; by then, schools will begin their winter breaks, so snow day impacts should be limited. As always, thank you very much for your support towards the service and have a good rest of your evening.
