First Prediction for January 10, 2017

Good evening everyone. As some of you have heard, snow and ice is possible in the afternoon and evening hours on Tuesday. As such, I have created a First Prediction for Tuesday. Let’s jump into it!

We are getting snow and ice at some point on Tuesday. The question is when does it exactly start. Some models have accumulations beginning as early as 1/2 PM; other guidance have the snow accumulating around 4/5 PM. Another factor to consider is schools may react to what the radar may look like at 10/11 AM, regardless if accumulations have or will occur. This type of situation has happened before. Given this risk, I am leaning towards the idea of early dismissals. We also have to see if a Winter Weather Advisory is issued and when does that advisory go into effect — this may offer clues as to how the school districts could react.

Expect the Second Prediction to be issued tomorrow evening, followed by the Final Prediction early Tuesday morning. By the way, I am not expecting any school delays tomorrow due to cold temperatures. Wind chills will likely not reach advisory-level criteria. Have a great evening everyone and see you tomorrow! Thanks again for the support; I do appreciate it.
