December 29, 2016 Winter Weather

Good evening everyone! I hope your holiday season is going well.

I have been keeping an eye on Thursday for regional winter impacts. It looks like snow will begin to arrive into the region after sunrise, become steady through the late-morning/early-afternoon hours, then taper off as the afternoon progresses. A decent 2 to 4 inches of snow is expected; had schools been in session this week, this would have been a classic school-closing scenario. I am sure seniors are breathing a sigh of relief.

I would anticipate road conditions to become slippery after sunrise as snowfall should accumulate on roadways from the onset of this event. Valley areas may get above freezing later in the day, helping the roads to improve.

I will post updates as necessary throughout this week; have a great week!
