First Prediction for December 6, 2016

Good evening everyone. Mother Nature is not done with snow yet, as we have to deal with some frozen precipitation tomorrow afternoon.

Snow and ice, which could start out as rain, is expected for the mountain areas tomorrow afternoon beginning around 4 PM and will last until midnight. The problem is temperatures will be around freezing in the mountains while above freezing in the valleys. Heavy snowfall rates (1″ per hour) are expected as the evening progresses, making road accumulations an interesting question. The valleys may not see much snow while the mountains could see a couple of inches at least.

I’ll be honest — this is a rather difficult prediction. I would not be surprised if one district cancels activities while others keep them on. It’s hard for me to pick one scenario over the other. I am open to everyone’s input; feel free to comment your thoughts.

I have two finals tomorrow and one on Wednesday — updates may be limited, but school comes first. Have a good night everyone.
