The Brush Fire Situation

Good evening everyone. I have been keeping a close eye on the fire situation along the Monroe/Pike county border in the Delaware State Forest. Officials believe the fire was intentionally started. There is a $5,000 reward for those who provide information resulting in an arrest.

Over 5,000 acres have been scorched by the brush fire. I have been getting photos and videos of smoke within residential neighborhoods. I know the Pine Flats community in Porter Township has been given an evacuation order. Some roads in the Delaware State Forest, including parts of Route 402 and Highline Road, are closed until further notice.

Some relief is on its way: below is the projected rainfall over the next 48 hours, image courtesy of WeatherBell Analytics.

If you happen to live in an evacuation area, or if your neighborhood is given the order to evacuate in the near-future, I highly urge you to heed the warnings. Fire is part of Mother Nature, and we all know to never mess with Mother Nature. If you have any photos or videos, please send/comment them to me. Have a good week and stay safe.
